University of Evansville students and graduates need to engage the world as well-informed citizens. Knowledge and productivity work best as a partnership.

It is, therefore, the University's responsibility to attract a knowledgeable and talented faculty to teach, inspire and motivate students and to challenge them to reach their full potential. It is also its responsibility to support this faculty with the resources–tools, environment, curriculum and programs–to fuel its efforts.

Chairs and professorships provide mechanisms to attract and retain the best and brightest faculty members, those who have proven themselves as educators, mentors and motivators capable of transforming students' lives.

To meet these objectives, the University has established the following endowment goals.

Faculty Chairs and Professorships: $10 Million

• Offer competitive financial packages to current and prospective faculty members
• Invest in academic and honors programs that are challenging enough to motivate faculty members and students alike
• Fund and promote traditional and innovative programs in keeping with excellent scholarship and within University of Evansville guidelines

Honors Program: $2 Million

• Support creative and innovative teaching and learning opportunities by funding honors classes, small seminars and shared living experiences for highly-motivated students

Scholarships: $12 Million

• Endow deserving students who would flourish with a University of Evansville experience regardless of their ability to pay

Academic Programs: $2 Million

• Ensure increasing competitiveness in academic programs by investing in new programming and upgrading academic offerings

Undergraduate Research Program: $2 Million

• Support math and science disciplines that cover the research spectrum: questioning; making connections; testing ideas; developing applications; and evaluating results
• Fund research fellowships with faculty members to promote inquiry-based hands-on learning and peer mentoring leadership opportunities

Sustainable Support of Athletics: $8 Million

Athletics are an integral part of the total learning experience. As the Tri-State region's only university to offer athletics at the highest level–NCAA Division 1–we must provide each student-athlete with an outstanding education and positive intercollegiate athletics experience.

Undergraduate Research Program: $2 Million • Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund:   $2 Million • Endowed Fund for Faculty Research:   $500,000 • Endowed Fund for Research Support:   $250,000 Athletics: $8 Million • Endowed "Starting Lineup"   Men’s Basketball Program: $3 Million    (Cross Country, Swimming & Diving,    Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Tennis and Golf) • Endowed Assistant Coach Position:   $250,000 • Endowed Athletics Support Funds:   $100,000 • Endowed Full Scholarship: $600,000 • Endowed Tuition Scholarship: $400,000
