The Vision of Culture and Values
Endowing Soul and Spirit
The University of Evansville's long-standing relationship with the United Methodist Church has established a tradition of inclusiveness and inquiry. Surrounded by our values-based environment, students come to understand the ethical and spiritual significance of their personal and professional behavior.
To further this tradition, the University must embrace a diverse population of students. Although conservative fiscal practices have helped us balance the budget, a dependable stream of income is required to bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of a University of Evansville education, as well as to provide financial support to those who would flourish with a University of Evansville experience, but lack the ability to pay.
To achieve this vision, we must:
- Increase programming for student engagement and outreach
- Fund the fundamental philosophies that support our mission
- Promote programs to help recruit and retain a diverse University population
Diversity Outreach Programs: $3 Million
- Attract and retain a diverse faculty, administration, staff and student body
- Develop and sustain a campus community and environment that fosters and celebrates multicultural diversity
- Provide an array of multicultural support services and programs
- Prepare all students to assume leadership positions in a global society
Endowed Student Life Programs: $2 Million
- Foster values of tolerance, acceptance and humanitarian spirit through the University's association with the United Methodist Church
- Promote a sense of inclusiveness by making Neu Chapel and the Office of the Chaplain a hub for outreach efforts and myriad programs, activities and organizations
Improve Financial Resources: $8 Million
- Continuing our mission of scholarship consistent with the culture and values of the University of Evansville requires the generosity of many donors to provide unrestricted support.
